Situated at 9,000 feet elevation just south of charming Westcliffe, Colorado, the cabin is rustic in vibe but with modern touches. One desk sits facing a window with a view of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, where peaks reach more than 14,000 feet into the sky. Another writing spot is next to the gas fireplace—you know, for ambience. A couch and reading chair give chill seating options for when you don’t need to type any more.

The cabin is equipped with high-speed WiFi and a solar-power setup. There’s a fully equipped kitchen and a deck almost as big as the cabin itself. Sit out there in the sun, sip some coffee, and take in a view of the mountains that formed from a kind of geologic fault that gave them no foothills—just pure prominence. Oh, and you also can watch open-range cows trek up and down the hills surrounding you, or you can go for a walk on the property or the winding private roads of this ranching neighborhood.
